Our advisers exceed the minimum industry standards required to be an Authorised Representative as set by Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC). In addition to this, all ASC Financial Services planners and financial planning assistants undertake ongoing training and educational studies to remain up to date with continuing changes in financial markets, taxation and legislative requirements.

We work as a team for our clients, providing personal attention every step of the way. Each of our planners specialises in a different area and works on the clients’ behalf in a concerted manner, thereby ensuring the quality of advice and level of service we are providing.

Should a client need an adviser in a particular area that requires expertise that ASC Financial Services does not provide (for example a solicitor, accountant, etc), we will recommend a pre-screened professional who can assist in this area.

 
Meet the ASC Financial Services Team
Andrew S. Coates – Senior Financial Planner
Andrew S. Coates is our Senior Financial Planner. Andrew has been in the financial planning industry for over fourteen years, and holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning). He is an Authorised Representative of GWM Adviser Services Limited (Authorised Representative Number: 242604), and is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia.
Andrew started his working life with the CBC Bank in Brisbane before moving to Mackay in 1979. Andrew is married to Alison, with whom he has three children, so he has a solid understanding of life experiences – paying a mortgage, raising and educating his children, while looking after his own wealth creation and retirement goals.

Andrew is actively involved in the Mackay community, currently holding the positions of President of the Fitzgerald State School P&C Association and Treasurer for Souths Junior Rugby League.

Andrew is committed to the Financial Planning industry, enjoying the challenge of assisting and guiding clients to achieve their financial freedoms and retirement goals.

 
Laurinda Volker – Financial Planner
Laurinda has completed her Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning), and is an Authorised Representative of GWM Adviser Services Limited (Authorised Representative Number 301854). She is advancing her studies through ongoing seminars, and completing the Advanced Diploma of Financial Services.
Laurinda began her financial planning career in 2001 in administration, and assisting Clients with the specialised Cashflow Management System, developing a solid understanding of the financial planning industry.

Being a “born and bred” Mackay girl, Laurinda has established strong community ties and an in depth understanding of local industry.

 
Alison Coates – Finance Controller
Alison is responsible for overseeing the financial records and bookkeeping for the business, with her duties including wages, and monitoring the purchasing of all stationery and office equipment. Alison is also responsible for sending birthday cards and special occasion cards to our cashflow clients.
Alison has been part of the ASC Financial Services Team since May 2001, and after undertaking several roles in the office, is now settled into the role of Finance Controller.

A local girl, Alison is the wife of Andrew, and mother of their three children.

 
Sarah Zaglas – Client Services Representative
Sarah graduated from Mackay North State High School in November 2006. Soon after, she took on the role of assisting Laurinda with the cash flow monitoring and general administration duties of the office as part of our team.

Sarah has lived in Mackay her entire life and enjoys delivering a high standard of client service as well as assisting clients to understand the more general aspects of their financial affairs.

 
Natasha Flanagan – Client Services Representative
Natasha has lived in the Mackay district her entire life and has a strong sense of pride in her community. Natasha enjoys delivering a high standard of client service and implementing the plans established for our clients.
